And the Verdict Is.....

The library said no to hosting my book club for African-American boys. I am really disappointed. They said they can't host things that are gender based or race based. I guess I understand in a way, but it is still a sad state of affairs. On the one hand we seem to talk a lot about how our boys are struggling and what can we do to save them, but then we don't put the effort in to saving them. Anyway, I am feisty and I am determined, so on to plan B. I have contacted an African-American church in the area to see if they will be able to provide a space for the group. I feel confident that they will say yes. I also have someone who is going to design flyers for me, I just need to be able to give him the specific details. I am excited. I know this has the potential to be really great. Wish me luck!!! Until next time.
